No data sharing

Gmail Observer runs entirely on your Mac. The app communicates only with Google's official APIs to authenticate your account and read the unread mail in your inbox. No personal data, mail content, or access tokens are transferred to us or to any other third-party service, server, or analytics provider.

What the app accesses

After you sign in with Google, the app requests read-only access to your Gmail in order to count and display unread conversations (sender and subject). This data is processed locally on your device to render the menu bar and the list of unread mail. It is not stored on any external system controlled by us.

Credentials and authentication

Authentication uses Google's OAuth flow. Access tokens issued by Google are stored securely on your Mac (in the system Keychain) and are sent only to Google when refreshing or reading your mail. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

This website respects your privacy by not using cookies or similar technologies and not collecting any personally identifiable information.
